Virtual fitting room technology certainly got a shot in the arm thanks to brands catering to quarantined consumers during the pandemic, but it continues to hold retailers’ interest as ecommerce expands. So far this year, we’ve seen offerings from the likes of Walmart, theGap and Snap, to name a few. But it is lingerie brand Savage X Fenty that takes Adweek’s 2022 prize for best virtual fitting room technology because of its AR body scans, which analyze customers’ body shape to match each consumer with a “fit twin” to recommend  the sizes and styles that will look best. “We strive to create the most comfortable fitting experience for our customers so they can shop and wear our product with absolute confidence,” said co-president and CMO Natalie Guzman and Christiane Pendarvis, co-president and chief design and merchandising officer, in a joint statement. “Introducing Fit:Match has been a game changer in merging the physical and digital of our retail brand, especially in a time where fit and comfort in your body is so important.” —Lisa Lacy
