Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty partnered with FIT:MATCH in collaboration with Intel to launch the next generation of its award-winning, patented body shape technology. Fit Xperience, gives shoppers the opportunity to get scanned in an in-store fitting room using Intel’s RealSense technology and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit. Within seconds, customers are matched with the best-fitting Savage X styles based on their exact body shape. This first-of-its-kind experience will be available exclusively at Savage X Fenty retail stores, debuting at its new Lenox Square Mall location in Atlanta, Georgia. Fit Xperience will be rolled out across all Savage X Fenty locations later this year.
Introducing Fit Xperience into Savage X stores has been supported by Rihanna as it enhances her consumers shopping experience online and in store. “I’ve always wanted to open a store, but we were doing so well as an e-commerce store. I also felt there would always be a need for an in-person, one-on-one experience for our consumers. Having the “Fit Xperience” is one of those things that makes it really important because people don't even know their size and we are shopping online. You're guessing and buying sizes you think would work best. My boobs are growing by the week and I don’t really know my size right now, but having this experience will change the game,” Rihanna shared late last year.
Fit Xperience weaves together augmented reality, computer vision and artificial intelligence, creating a re-imagined in-store fitting room experience. Shoppers who take part in Fit Xperience step into the fitting room where Intel RealSense depth sensors create an anonymized avatar based on their exact body shape. The technology then compares the shopper’s body to the database of digital twins, bodies that have been scanned previously, and with an AI assist from Intel OpenVINO recommends the best-fitting products to the shopper. By using depth sensors, and not cameras, to generate a mapping of a shoppers’ shape, FIT:MATCH has ensured the entire experience is both safe and private, with no videos and pictures taken or stored. The process takes less than 30 seconds from beginning to end saving time, both for the shoppers and the store associates. “We truly believe this is the most frictionless in- store fitting experience on the market,” said Haniff Brown, Founder and CEO of FIT:MATCH.
After shoppers complete their scan in store, their product matches are instantly emailed to them. After they leave the store, they will be able to reference these matches in recommended sizes to shop online at SavageX.com. On average, customers who participate in Fit Xperience convert at a 4X rate, have 20% higher average order values, purchase 40% higher units per transaction, and sign up for the loyalty program at a 2X rate, versus ones that do not scan with our technology.
“As a brand championing inclusivity and body diversity, our goal is to provide a seamless and positive shopping experience for everyBODY. Our new and improved Fit Xperience allows Savage X shoppers the chance to get scanned in an in-store fitting room using Intel’s RealSense technology and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit. Within seconds, they’re matched with the best-fitting Savage X Fenty styles based on their exact body shape, so final selections include what they feel most comfortable and confident in,” shared Savage X Fenty Co-President & Chief Merchant, Christiane Pendarvis. “Introducing the Fit Xperience has been a game changer for intersecting digital and physical retail. We’re addressing fit and comfort concerns at the onset to create the most optimal retail experience for our customers. This proprietary technology also allows us to successfully merge the physical and digital elements of our brand in a unique way.”
Savage X Fenty closed a strategic investment in FIT:MATCH last year to accelerate expansion of the AR-powered technology, which solves the fit challenge that has long plagued brands and consumers by utilizing body shape data rather than just standard measurements. The next phase of this partnership will include an iOS app experience where shoppers can self scan at home to find the perfect fit online or in stores.
